LORDI Mainman To Star In Horror Film
March 23, 2007According to ESCToday.com, Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI will soon return as the co-writers and stars of the multi-million film production "Dark Floors". The band will also perform the film's theme song.
Described as "an American-type slasher thriller with a sprinkle of Japanese style," the movie's script was written by LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi and Finnish writer Veli-Pekka Hänninen. The film, which is set in a hospital, will reportedly cost around four million euros to produce and it will be the first production of the new company that was formed after the aquisition of a major stake in Solar Films by the Danish movie giant Nordisk Film. Apart from LORDI, the rest of the cast will be from the U.K. and the USA. Filming will start on May 7 but LORDI will join on May 14, after the Eurovision Song Contest final. The film will be promoted at the Cannes International Film Festival with a LORDI concert on May 20. The release date for Finland has been set for Friday, December 21.
This is not Mr. Lordi's first attempt on the wide screen. He also played himself in the 2004 horror movie "The Kin".
